Woman sues for wrongful termination, supervisor retaliation

A hostile work environment due to sexual harassment can create many problems for those who have to endure it. One may want to report the person who is responsible, but often retaliation can occur for those who stand up against these wrongs, in Michigan and across America. If one has a family to provide for, one may think that suffering from a hostile work environment is the best option so as to avoid wrongful termination. One woman had enough of her supervisor's sexual harassment, filed complaints, was fired and is now suing for wrongful termination.

The woman claims that her employer sexually harassed her for years and created a hostile work environment. She also claims that many other women have been victims of his unwelcome comments and unwanted advances. These comments and advances increased as time went on, eventually leading the woman to stand up for herself.

The woman states that she wanted to complain for years, but she always decided against it for fear of retaliation because she has a family to provide for. Her supervisor was the director of the dental clinic, and the women were intimidated by his position of power. One attempt to complain by another woman was shrugged off, but then it resulted in an increase of workload and unfair performance reviews.

It is not disclosed in the report how much the woman is suing for, but any amount would be helpful since she has a family to provide for and no longer has a job. The woman is suing for wrongful termination, retaliation and sexual harassment. If one is a victim of wrongful termination from one's work in Michigan, one could be entitled to a lawsuit which could assist one financially as well as provide compensation for punitive damages.
