How to put an end to workplace sexual harassment

When it comes to workplace sexual harassment, you probably assume you'll never be a victim. Unfortunately, this is the way many people feel right before they are put in a bad situation by a coworker.

Despite the fact that there are sexual harassment laws in place, such as the Civil Rights Act, this remains a big problem throughout the country.

One of the biggest issues with sexual harassment is the fact that it can happen time and time again. Once you find yourself stuck in this pattern, it can be difficult to break free. Fortunately, there are many steps you can take to end the harassment and move on with your life as you had hoped.

First and foremost, you need to speak out after the first incident. Never let the person think that what he or she did is okay. It's essential to file a formal complaint with the human resources department. This way, you are no longer alone in regards to fighting back.

If for any reason your internal efforts fail, it's time to consider your other options. In some cases, this means filing a lawsuit against the individual and/or your employer.
